Planned Parenthood of Toronto (PPT) is a community-based, pro-choice agency committed to the principles of equity and to providing accessible and inclusive services which promote healthy sexuality and informed decision-making to the people of the City of Toronto.
PPT’s vision is a future of sexual and reproductive choice, freedom, and possibilities. As a fully accredited community health centre, PPT provides primary and sexual health care services to youth between the ages of 13 and 29, and support to women throughout their reproductive years. PPT also offers health promotion programming, education, training, and research to improve the health and well-being of Toronto’s diverse communities. PPT exists to ensure that women and youth in the city of Toronto have access to information and services that promote healthy, informed decision making around sexual and reproductive health.
Women’s Health in Women’s Hands Community Health Centre (WHIWH) provides primary healthcare to Black Women and Women of Colour from the Caribbean, African, Latin American and South Asian communities in Metropolitan Toronto and surrounding municipalities. WHIWH is committed to working from an inclusive feminist, pro-choice, anti-racist, anti-oppression, and multilingual participatory framework in addressing the issue of access to healthcare for their mandated priority populations, encompassing gender, race, class, violence, sexual orientation, religion, culture, language, disability, immigration status, and socio-economic circumstances.
The 519 Church Street Community Centre is the hub of community life in Toronto’s diverse Church and Wellesley Village. Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual, transgender, two-spirit and queer (LGBTTQ) communities and our allies and friends have always found a welcoming place at The 519. The 519 offers a wide range of internationally renowned programs and dervices that operate from an anti-oppression framework. Their public meeting space enable groups in our community to organize and find support as well as find enrichment through arts and culture.
Sherbourne
Health Centre is an established community-based health centre in downtown Toronto. SHC offers high quality primary healthcare, and programs and services that support physical and emotional wellbeing; these include counselling, health promotion, mobile health services, complementary and alternative care, support groups and drop-ins, training and mentoring. SHC particularly welcomes and serves newcomers to Canada, those who are homeless or unsafely housed, and members of the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans) communities.
