The Film Screening Room

Does the hustle and bustle of a conference tend to tire you out? Do you often wish that you had a dark room to retreat into, where you could take a moment to breathe and regroup before the next amazing workshop? Well, look no further! We’ve got your back. From 11-4pm on the day of the conference, the Film Screening Room will be running non-stop short films on the topic of queer women’s sexuality for your viewing pleasure. Pop into the Film Screening Room at any time, for as long as you want, and let the power of queer women’s art rejuvenate you!

Have a film you’d like to submit to be screened?

We are accepting submissions of films under ten minutes long on the topic of “Queer Women’s Sexualit(ies)” for the Pleasure and Possibilities film room until March 19th at 5:00pm. We are especially seeking submissions that explore the intersections of queer women’s sexualities with race, disability, trans identity, indigeneity, survivorship, HIV-positive status, and/or sex work.  Submissions can be sent in the following ways:

  • If the file is small enough, you can email your film to kklein@ppt.on.ca
  • Drop your film off for Kate Klein at Planned Parenthood Toronto. See the PPT website for our hours.
  • Mail your film to Kate Klein, c/o Planned Parenthood Toronto, 36B Prince Arthur Avenue, Toronto, Ontario, M5R 1A9

Please note that while we greatly appreciate all contributions, not all submissions will be screened. Please send your film in a format that is Mac-compatible, and that can easily be extracted and burned onto a(nother) DVD. If you have any questions at all, don’t hesitate to email Kate at kklein@ppt.on.ca, or call her at 416-961-0113, ext. 136.
